What is Modern Slavery

Someone is in slavery if they are:  Forced to work / owned or controlled by an 'employer' / dehumanised / treated as a commodity or property /  have restrictions placed on their freedom of movement

Did you know?

There are an estimated 35.8 MILLION victims of modern slavery in the world today*

Since 2009 almost 1,500 CHILDREN in the UK have been identified as potential victims of human trafficking**

In 2013 it was estimated that 10,000 - 13,000 people were potential victims of modern slavery in the UK†

Slavery in the modern day
